Health and Wellness Center

Overview

The Health and Wellness center is located at the ground floor of MHSS building. It renders medical and dental services from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Health and Wellness Center promotes, monitors, maintains and offers prompt, competent, and excellent nursing care to the school population by providing quality medical and dental services and needs of the students and teaching and non-teaching staffs to guarantee that the physical, mental, and social well-being of everyone and the educational potential of the students will not be impeded or hampered by any unmet health and dental needs. It endeavors to provide holistic medical and dental care that will facilitate physical, psychological, and emotional growth and maturity of every student and employee. It offers annual physical assessment, first aid treatment, management of minor injuries and illnesses, general medication administration, health education programs including student’s health counseling and health environment monitoring. Basic dental services such as annual dental check-up, oral prophylaxis, tooth restoration and emergency tooth extraction and other dental needs are catered as well. Our office also identifies and eliminates hazards to the health and safety of the students and staffs in coordination with other school departments. We also collaborate and communicate with the parents with regards to their children’s health and also facilitates on the screening and referral procedure.

It endeavors to provide holistic medical and dental care that will facilitate physical, psychological, and emotional growth and maturity of every student and employee.

The Health and Wellness Department is committed to:

  • Provide excellent nursing care to every member of MHSS community.
  • Guarantee that educational potential of the students will not be impeded by unmet health and dental needs.
  • To diagnose and detect weakness, defects, hazards, or any health-related problems, which can hamper or impair the physical, mental, and social well-being of the students and staff.
  • Promote and uphold overall health of the school population by providing comprehensive and quality health services to prevent health-related disruptions in the learning process of our students.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The school physician is responsible for providing advice and services as necessary to promote good health and well-being of students and employees of MHSS.
  • The school nurse is primarily responsible in promoting and ensuring health and safety among all members of the MHSS community. He serves as the health professional for the students, faculty members, and staff.
  • The school dentist is responsible for providing patient care in all areas of general dentistry and maintaining good oral and general health of students, employees, and faculty members of the School.
  • The laboratory assistant is responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the laboratories and safekeeping of all facilities, equipment, and supplies to insure proper use and maintenance.
