Malayan High School’s Publication Staff Tours The Philippine DaiIy Inquirer

Last August 13, the Whizzy Works (official newspaper of Malayan High School) staffers with their editor-in- chief, Konstantin Barrieta and their school paper adviser Ms. Merelyn Chen visited The Philippine Daily Inquirer for a day of lecture on the history of the said reputable newspaper and a view on the complete procedures of its day-to-day publication. The trip aimed to equip the staffers with necessary background in journalism and exposing them to the real publication set-up.

They were received warmly by Ms. Connie Kalagayan and Bianca Kasilag of Inquirer’s Corporate Affairs Department and toured them to the printing house where the staffers witnessed the actual procedure of making a newspaper.

The school’s visit appeared in the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s August 23, 2010 issue.
