Rank 9 for MHSS in the NAT 2010

Sunday, July 25, 2010

Malayan High School of Science has improved its rank to two notches higher in the 2010 National Achievement Test (NAT) administered to all second year students from both the public and private schools all over the country in February 2010. Every year, the Department of Education (DepEd) assesses the academic achievement of government and private high schools in the major subject areas of Filipino, Mathematics, English, Science, and Araling Panlipunan.

From rank 11 for SY 2008-2009, MHSS jumped to rank 9 out of 84 private schools in the Division of City Schools, Manila for SY 2009-2010. The results were released by the DepEd – Manila.

What Dr. Reynaldo B. Vea, President of Malayan High School of Science, said last school year during the 2009 General Assembly of Parents and Teachers still applies: “We are happy and proud of the achievement of our students considering that MHSS is very young but we are not contented.”

We encourage the current batch of second years not to take the upward trend of the school performance in the NAT as a pressure but rather as a challenge. We can do better if we focus on the things we do. Remember the E in DECIR.

Congratulations to the students and teachers! Congratulations to Malayan High School of Science!
