Malayan High School of Science conducted relief efforts for the communities in Marikina and Rizal affected by the recent Typhoon Ulysses.
“Helping those who were affected by the recent typhoon is our way of giving back to the community,” MHSS Principal Emmillie Joy B. Mejia said.
Malayan Science launched a donation drive, titled One Malayan, calling for monetary and in-kind donations from its students, parents, teaching and non-teaching staff, alumni, and the community. Proceeds were allotted for relief packs that were distributed to the chosen communities.
Teaching and non-teaching staff and parent volunteers distributed the relief packs to Brgy. Malanday in Marikina and Brgy. Dela Costa in Rodriguez, Rizal, last November 27 and 28, respectively. Malayan Science partnered with with Deokid Foundation and Biochem Company for the distribution.
Relief packs included food, drinking water, vitamins, hygiene kits, and school supplies.
