The Development Office for Information Technology, with its competent workforce, provides appropriate ICT services, through the utilization of existing and new technologies, committed to effect continuing quality improvement in the academic, administrative, and student services.

Duties and Responsibilities

The IT Technician/Helpdesk Officer is responsible for configuration, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of personal computers and related peripherals deployed at the School and used by its teaching and non-teaching personnel and students. The position is also tasked to provide Level 1 end-user technical support to all employees and students of MHSS.

  • Configure and install the appropriate hardware and software, in coordination with Systems Engineer and Desktop and End-User Support Manager, of newly purchased computers and any related peripherals;
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and network issues as escalated by the Helpdesk in a timely manner, ensuring the SLA’s are met;
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention; redirect problems to the appropriate units of IOS;
  • Assists Systems and Network Engineers in the setup of the computers to be used for critical activities;
  • Respond to requests for technical assistance via phone or e-mail or by client walk-in requests; diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues and advise users on appropriate actions;
  • Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention; redirect problems to the appropriate unit or person;
  • Perform other pertinent duties and responsibilities as may be delegated by the immediate superior from time to time;
