How to reach Malayan High School of Science:

By car

From Quezon City, drive along Quezon Avenue to España Boulevard. Turn to Lacson Avenue going to Nagtahan Bridge. At the end of the bridge, turn right to Paz Guanzon Street.
From Cubao, Q.C., take the E. Rodriguez Sr. Avenue and drive towards G. Araneta Avenue. Turn to Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard going to Nagtahan Bridge. Turn right to Paz Guanzon Street.
From Makati City, drive along Osmeña Highway going to Quirino Avenue. Find your way to Plaza Dilao Road going to Quirino Avenue Extension. Turn right at Honda Cars Manila. MHSS is just a few meters away.
From Mandaluyong City, take Shaw Boulevard going to Tomas Claudio to get to Quirino Avenue and then bound for Nagtahan Bridge.
From Mandaluyong City, take Shaw Boulevard going to Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard. Turn to Nagtahan. At the end of the bridge, turn to Paz Guanzon Street.

Commuters’ guide:

By jeep/bus

From Manila, go to SM City Manila. At the back exit, board an ordinary mini-bus bound for Pandacan and get off in front of the Coca-Cola plant, right across MHSS.
From U.N. Taft, walk or ride a tricycle to San Marcelino Street near Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) and Manila Police District Headquarters. Board an ordinary mini-bus bound for Pandacan and get off in front of the Coca-Cola plant.
From Quezon City (Quezon Avenue), take a jeep at Vicente Cruz Avenue in España Boulevard going to Sta. Mesa Rotonda. At the jeepney terminal near De Ocampo College across EARIST, take a Paco-bound jeep and get off in front of the Coca-Cola plant.
From Cavite, Las Piñas, and Parañaque, board a bus going to Quirino Avenue. Turn to Quirino Avenue Extension, and then turn right to Paz Guanzon Street. Get off in front of the Coca-Cola plant.

By train

LRT 1 – From U.N. Avenue Station, walk or ride a tricycle to San Marcelino Street to take a mini-bus bound for Pandacan. MHSS is across the Coca-Cola plant.

What is the edge of MHSS over other Science high schools?

Malayan High School of Science is a privately owned science high school. The school is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities that enable students to appreciate scientific studies not just on the theoretical level. With these facilities, the students are also able to apply what they have learned inside the classroom. MHSS is also one of the few schools in the country that offers Robotics as a subject. This is in line with the school’s goal to provide varied fields of interests in its curriculum.

I’ve heard that the school is a bullying-free environment. Is this true?

The school is very particular about the issue of bullying, and does not tolerate any form of it. The school implements a very strict regulation on bullying and does not hesitate to impose sanctions on offending students

Does the school have available scholarships for students?

The school offers Academic Scholarships to students who meet certain criteria.

For students graduating valedictorian from a school with more than 120 students, they will enjoy full scholarship (free tuition) upon enrollment in the first year level. Students must maintain the assigned WGA to retain their scholarship.

For students graduating salutatorian from a school with more than 120 students, they will enjoy partial scholarship (50% discount on tuition) upon enrollment in the first year level. Students must maintain the assigned WGA to retain their scholarship.

It also offers sport scholarships as the school is an active participant in the NCAA.

Where is the school located?

MHSS is located at 8013 Paz M. Guanzon Street, Pandacan, Manila, Philippines. The school is in front of the bottling plant of Coca-Cola in Pandacan, beside Ford branch in Manila. It is only a few meters away from Robinson’s Otis.

How is Malayan High School of Science connected to Mapúa Institute of Technology?

Malayan High School of Science is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mapúa Institute of Technology. It was built to succeed Mapúa’s pre-engineering high school to complement the expansion of the Institute’s academic offerings in science and technology and other fields.
