True to its name as a formidable private science high school in the Philippines, Malayan High School of Science now focuses on further strengthening its curriculum in preparation for students who will pursue the STEM strand for senior high school.

Whizzy Updates 2016

December 2016

The year 2016 will close with Malayan High School of Science Red Robins’ copping the championship in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 92 Juniors Basketball.

Aside from this sterling sports achievement, MHSS students also shine in the field of academics: one MHSS student represented the Philippines in an international Math competition edging out 12 participants from other countries. The school also hosted a Robotics seminar in elementary schools as an effort to let the younger students experience the future of technology.

August 2016

True to its name as a science high school, MHSS opened the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics strand of the Academic track to incoming Grade 11 students. The curriculum of the pilot batch of the senior high school will include the emerging Internet of things technology and Microsoft Office Productivity Tools While it has opened senior high school, MHSS nevertheless has sustained the tempo of its junior high school in realizing the school's vision of becoming a global center of excellence especially in the field of science and technology. Proof of this are some of MHSS students brought home the second place in the MTAP 2016 challenge. In basketball, the Red Robins are also in good shape as they battle it out to bring home the championship title in NCAA Season 92.

April 2016

MHSS, now on its 10th year of offering quality scientific education to young people, prepares itself for the first batch of senior high school students in June 2016.

Two special course offerings - Internet of Things and Microsoft Office Productivity Tools - will be made available to the pilot batch of senior high school students to expose them to the emerging technologies of the day which will form part in their holistic education.

In this issue of Whizzy Updates, Malayan High School of Science celebrates for a couple of reasons. Last August, the school placed fourth in the National Achievement Test proving its caliber in the field of the sciences.

The school also lauds the excellence of its students: one who won in an international Math competition, and a team who bagged a medal in an inter-school bridge making contest.

In the field of sports, the Red Robins is keeping its winning streak with a 14-2 win-loss record in the NCAA.

The school also commends its alumni who have blossomed and were successful in their own fields, contributing to the betterment of society.

Malayan celebrates. It continues its stride toward being a global center of excellence in secondary education in the area of science and technology.

May 2015

For 9 years, Malayan High School of Science has proved its authority in the field of Science and Technology education. With its outstanding students, promising curriculum, and state-of-the-art facilities, the school moves toward being a global center of excellence in secondary education.

Audrey Gabrielle Tan, a grade 7 student, for example, has had impressive feats in local and international competitions in Science and Math. Four teams of MHSS students won in a local Math competition besting over 8 schools.

This year, the school will focus on improving its robotics and multimedia arts curriculum, where technology and creativity work together. In fact, 12 MHSS robotics students won triumphant in a robotics competition sponsored by the Philippine Science High School.

Aside from academic accolades, students of Malayan Science had their share of golds in sports. The Red Robins was first-runner up in NCAA Season 90 and Myrtle Santos won as second-runner up in the Gymnastics Philippine Cup.

Malayan High School of Science has always done well in the field of science and technology. It has, through the years, carried on Mapúa’s tradition of excellence translated in successful niches in various fields of S&T education. It has pursued excellence and committed itself to forming students who are well-rounded, globally competitive, and scientific. This year, some MHSS students participated in prestigious national and international academic competitions.

MHSS also launched its Partner School program wherein the partner schools benefit from MHSS’s science and mathematics curricula development and improvement, student learning and development programs, and employee development programs.

Aside from this, MHSS has maintained achievements in sports and campus community development.

Science and technology is the key to the country's development. This has been the message of the Philippines' Man of Science Dr. William G. Padolina and other experts and scientists that graced Malayan High School of Science this year, sharing their knowledge and experiences to Malayans and encouraging the students to work hard and contribute to the nation's progress.

Meanwhile, student athletes continuously bring honor to their school with awards and achievements from different sporting events, including the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

Embodying the core value of Responsibility, the Supreme Student Government has launched a program that will readily mobilize MHSS and its students to extend help in times of calamities.
